AP Statistics: B Block
Instructor: Mr. Jenkins
AP Statistics involves the study of four main areas: Exploring Data (Describing patterns and departures from patterns), Sampling and Experimentation (Planning and conducting a study), Anticipating Patterns (Exploring random phenomena using probability and simulation), and Statistical Inference (Estimating population parameters and testing hypotheses). As described by the College Board, students entering this course are expected to have mathematical maturity and quantitative reasoning ability. Thus, all students will have taken a second-year algebra course as a prerequisite. In contrast to many other math classes, this course will require the reading of the text. This AP Statistics course is taught as an activity-based course in which students will actively construct their own understanding of statistical concepts and techniques.
